Online interior design has settled into a few distinct offerings at very different prices. The confusion is that they are all described the same way — “a designer, online, for your room” — while what actually arrives differs enormously. This page sets out what each one costs, how long it takes, and what you receive.

At $199 for an online room, and often less on sale, Havenly is the least expensive way to work with a real designer, and it is quick. If you want a scheme for a rental, a first flat, or a room you are not precious about, this is the sensible choice and nothing on this page beats it on price.
One thing to know. Havenly owns several furniture brands — The Inside, Interior Define, The Citizenry, St Frank and Burrow — so the pieces recommended to you come from a catalogue the company has a commercial interest in.
Decorilla costs the most here and can take the longest, and for renovation-level work that is the right trade. You get two concepts from two designers, then continue with the one you prefer, plus technical drawings a contractor can build from. If you are moving walls or planning a kitchen, this is the service built for it.
Seven to ten days is genuinely fast for a designed room, and 3D renderings are included at every tier. If you have a deadline — a move-in date, people arriving — speed is worth paying for.
We are the smallest service on this page and we do one thing the others structurally cannot: we specify antique and vintage pieces alongside new ones, and we tell you where to find each.
That is not a claim about taste. It is a consequence of how the other businesses work. Their model depends on retail partnerships and in-stock inventory — a catalogue item can be recommended to five hundred clients, and it pays a commission. An antique console can be recommended once, might sell before you decide, and pays nothing. At $199 a room the hours required to hunt one down do not exist.
So if you want a room that looks collected rather than furnished — hand-painted paper, a proper paint scheme, an old mirror, contrast trim on the upholstery — that is the gap we work in. For a single room, generally yes — you are paying a fraction of a traditional designer’s fee for a plan you can act on. The thing to check before buying is what actually arrives: a mood board, a rendering, or a specification naming every item and where to buy it. Those are three different products often sold under the same description.
It varies. Ask before you pay. We build the scheme around what you already have where it is worth keeping, which for anyone with inherited or antique pieces is usually the whole point.
Most operate remotely and will take clients anywhere, though sourcing links are typically US retailers. We work worldwide, and sourcing is adjusted to where you are.
